The Sound Arts Sponsorship and Residency Program combines opportunities for young, up and coming engineers and producers to engage professionally with musicians and bands to record, collaborate and release songs completely for free. Skilled and eager graduates from our intern program engineer and new students from BAVC youth outreach and media literacy programs provide hands-on assistance. Each day we’ll record, mix and complete several songs produced by a selected, sponsored artist. Participants throughout the Bay Area will be featured in a diverse, open-source compilation released under a CC (creative commons) license. In collaboration with a growing list of sponsors and partnering organizations, Sound Arts plans to launch this program with our first action packed week in August and release content shortly there after.
